Join fellow group members and attend a screening of Ithaka, followed by a discussion of the film afterwards with Coleen Rowley and Mike Madden. Weaving historic archive and intimate behind-the- scenes footage, this story tracks John Shipton, Julian Assange’s father, alongside Stella Morris, Assange’s wife, as they join forces to advocate for Julian.
We have a virtual meeting scheduled with staff of Rep. Dean Phillips to discuss Philippine human rights and Enhance Consideration of Human Rights in Arms Exports act (HR 1801), also known as the SAFEGUARD act of 2023 (attached). Plus request for a Tom Lantos Commission hearing on the Philippines. This is in collaboration with the Philippine Study Group of Minnesota. We will discuss this at our meeting on Sunday.
